LAHORE (Sept 23): A teenage student who built a secret home laboratory to poison his father has been arrested in Pakistan after using artificial intelligence to perfect his chemical formulas and hatch a traceless plot.

The youth, whose name was not disclosed by the authorities, was detained in the city of Bahawalpur during a dawn raid by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency. Armed with global intelligence alerts, federal cyber detectives traced a series of highly disturbing internet searches to the family home. Senior officers confirmed the suspect was utterly obsessed with Breaking Bad, the hit American television drama charting a chemistry teacher’s descent into the criminal underworld.

The investigation revealed that the schoolboy managed to smuggle hazardous chemical components into his bedroom from suppliers based in Australia and Islamabad. After blending a toxic compound, he allegedly made an initial attempt on his father’s life. When the dose failed to prove fatal, the teenager turned to an artificial intelligence chatbot to troubleshoot his mistakes and demand a more lethal recipe for a second attempt.

Acting on the direct orders of regional cybercrime chief Hussam bin Iqbal, a specialist unit moved in to intercept the boy before he could strike again. The raid uncovered an array of makeshift laboratory equipment and dangerous chemical compounds hidden inside the property.

The shocking case has ignited a fierce debate among tech experts and child protection advocates regarding the dark side of unregulated technology. Critics point out that despite widespread corporate promises of safety filters, minors are still successfully exploiting online platforms to bypass security protocols and weaponise dangerous information.

The student remains in federal custody while forensic experts analyse his digital equipment and the seized chemical materials.
