ISLAMABAD (Aug 22, 2026): The government on Saturday blamed the PTI for violating court order by issuing statements and speaking to the media following former prime minister Imran Khan’s medical check-up at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) on Friday.
Tarar stated that the court order was implemented, noting that a medical examination was conducted in the presence of PTI founder’s sister. The examination took place in the presence of a doctor from Shifa Hospital; the entire process was carried out with complete transparency, in line with court directives.
“PML-N believes that health issues should not be used for political gain,” Information Minister Attaullah Tarar maintained.
Tarat went on to clear government’s stance on the SC’s order.
“The next question is whether the court order was implemented. The answer is ‘Yes’. Was the medical checkup done? The answer is ‘yes’. Was it done with transparency? The answer is ‘yes’. Was his sister present? The answer is ‘yes’. Were doctors from Shifa present? The answer is ‘Yes’. All the obligations of the court order were fulfilled.”
Tarar’s statement came on the heels of PTI going to court. Imran Khan’s sister Dr Uzma Khan, approached the apex court on Saturday to seek the court’s action against the government for violating its August 18 order in which the government was directed to take Imran Khan from Adiala to Shif International Hospital.
