ISLAMABAD (Sept 11): The federal government has announced another increase in the prices of petroleum products, hitting consumers with a hike of over five rupees per litre for both petrol and high-speed diesel.
According to an official notification, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs. 5.02 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has gone up by Rs. 5.28 per litre.
Petrol and diesel prices rise by Rs3.05 and Rs5.37 per litre respectively
Following the latest adjustment, the new retail price of petrol stands at Rs. 375.82 per litre, up from its previous rate. Meanwhile, the new price for high-speed diesel has reached Rs. 403.32 per litre.
The revised rates are announced for September 12. Officials attribute the persistent fluctuations in domestic fuel pricing to shifting oil prices in the international market alongside macroeconomic factors. The fresh hike is expected to compound inflationary pressures on transport fares and daily essential commodities across the country.
