ISLAMABAD (Sept 11): The government has increased both petrol and diesel prices by Rs3.05 per litre and Rs5.37 per litre respectively.
Following the revision on September 11 (Friday), petrol will retail at Rs370.80 per litre, while HSD costs Rs398.04 per litre. The government continues to levy a tax of Rs114 per litre in taxes and duties for both fuels.
The price of high-speed diesel has dropped from its peak on April 3rd, when it was at Rs520.35 after rising from Rs281 per litre following the US-Iran war broke out on February 28th.

Petrol prices have also seen a rise since early March, with their retail price increasing by about Rs458.41 to Rs476.95 per litre.
On July 17, Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik announced that fuel prices would now be fixed on a daily basis due to fluctuations in international market prices following renewed hostilities between Iran and the US.
Prior to this announcement, government officials had been announcing weekly revisions for fuel prices since early March.
