They wore the badges of educators, enjoyed the community’s deepest respect, and pocketed massive taxpayer-funded salaries. But it was all a lie. Inside the explosive Mirpurkhas education scam, these “trusted” secondary school teachers have just been exposed as absolute frauds!

One female and five male teachers appointed on fake documents operated for five months until the matter was brought to the notice of the District Education Officer (DEO).

The matter came to light when the Taluka Education Officers (TEOs) of the respective schools could not find the records of these newly appointed teachers. Upon this, the TEOs lodged complaints with the District Education Officer, and the scam was laid bare during the initial inquiry itself.

The DEO ordered the District Accounts Officer (DAO) to immediately stop the salaries of the bogus teachers: Zahid Ali, Arshad Ali, Shah Rukh, Anil Kumar, Fahad Ali, and Abida Parveen.

Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah has directed an investigation into the matter, following which the School Education and Literacy Department issued a notification for the formation of an inquiry committee. The committee will investigate the allegedly fake or fraudulent appointments of Secondary School Teachers (SSTs). Zahid Ali Abbasi, Secretary of School Education and Literacy, has been appointed as the head of the inquiry committee, while Muhammad Iqbal Kumbhar, Director of Schools Education Mirpurkhas, and Syed Abid Ali Shah, Director of Human Resources and Training, are included as members of the committee.

The inquiry committee will examine the appointment and recruitment process of the aforementioned individuals. It will fix the responsibility of the individuals or officials involved in the preparation, scrutiny, issuance, and execution of these appointments. The committee will also assess the damage to the department’s reputation and the potential financial loss incurred due to these allegedly fake appointments. The inquiry committee has been directed to submit its report within ten days.
