ISLAMABAD (Oct 11): A major shake-up has swept through the top tiers of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administration following the imposition of Emergency and Governor’s rule in the province. According to official notifications issued on Sunday, several police officials and Deputy Commissioners (DCs) have been transferred.

The sweeping administrative overhaul, ordered in the public interest with immediate effect, alters the leadership landscape across several key regions and specialized departments.

While several high-ranking officials have been removed from their posts, others have resigned in protest, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Additional Advocate General Shah Faisal Ilyas.

Four high-ranking officers have been removed from their active provincial roles and directed to report to the Central Police Office (CPO) in Peshawar for onward placement with the federal Establishment Division in Islamabad. Among those surrendered to the federal capital are Additional IGP Training Dr Fasihuddin, DIG Legal Mr Humayan Masood Sandhu, Regional Police Officer (RPO) for the Kohat Region Mr Irfan Tariq, and District Police Officer (DPO) for Karak Mr Imran Khan.

The reshuffle also triggers immediate reassignments across major regional police commands. Lt. (R) Nasir Mahmood Sati moves from his role as RPO Hazara Region to take charge as Commandant of the Frontier Reserve Police (FRP), swapping positions with Mr Jahanzeb Nazir Khan, who now takes over as the new RPO for the Hazara Region.

Concurrently, Syed Fida Hassan Shah leaves his post as RPO Malakand Region to become the new DIG Operations for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He is replaced in Malakand by Mr Zahid Nawaz, who was previously awaiting placement at the CPO. Rounding out the administrative changes, Mr Shakir Hussain Dawar has been reassigned from his post as DIG Operations to serve as the incoming RPO for the Kohat Region.

Similarly, Deputy Commissioners of Peshawar, Charsadda, Swabi, Mardan, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Bajaur, Karak, Haripur, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Swat, Bar Swat, Buner, Batgaram, Malakand, Shangla, Dir Upper, and Kohat have also been transferred. Besides, Adnan Abra, Director Education Monitoring Authority, has also been transferred.
