HANGU — In a horrific multiple homicide that has stunned the local community, six members of a single family—including three young children—were found brutally murdered inside their residence in the Sarokhail area of Hangu, law enforcement officials confirmed.
Doaba Police Station House Officer (SHO) Waheed Marwat stated that authorities were alerted to the crime scene around 1:00 PM on Sunday after the bodies were discovered inside the house. A police team immediately secured the premises and transferred the deceased to the Doaba Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital for necessary post-mortem examinations.
The victims have been identified as Noor Rehman, his two wives, Maryam Bibi and Hamza Bibi, and their three children: four-year-old Jamila, three-year-old Fakhar, and a one-year-old infant.
Although the Doaba police have registered a formal First Information Report (FIR) against unknown assailants to initiate immediate legal proceedings, investigators have centered their primary suspicion on Noor Rehman’s younger brother, Abdul Rehman. The suspect, an active-duty employee serving in the Qatar Police Force, had recently arrived in his hometown on vacation and has gone missing since the murders occurred.
According to SHO Marwat, a critical breakthrough in the motive came from the victims’ father. The patriarch disclosed to investigators that just two days prior to the massacre, Noor Rehman had explicitly warned him that Abdul Rehman was actively plotting to kill them over an unresolved dispute. “We are analyzing the forensic evidence and investigating this tragedy from every possible angle,” SHO Marwat said, adding that dedicated police units have initiated a widespread manhunt to trace and arrest the absconding suspect.
