NAWABSHAH (Nov 2): A mother of five fell victim to a brutal physical assault allegedly perpetrated by her husband and brothers-in-law in an attempt to forcefully evict her from their home, weeks after her husband contracted a second marriage.

The victim, identified as Zuleikhan Kalhoro, a resident of Imam Ali Bhurt Colony, arrived at the Nawabshah Press Club alongside her children to appeal for justice after closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage documenting the violent attack went viral on social media networks.

According to Kalhoro, she has been married to her husband for 22 years, and the couple shares two daughters and three sons. Tension escalated within the household after her husband recently remarried. Kalhoro alleged that her spouse, determined to displace her and her children to accommodate his second wife in the family home, enlisted the help of his brothers to subject her to severe physical torture.

Despite the emergence of clear CCTV evidence of the assault, local law enforcement has reportedly failed to intervene. Kalhoro stated that she immediately approached the B-Section Police Station to file a formal complaint following the attack, but officers refused to initiate any legal proceedings or provide protection.

Fearing for her life and the safety of her children, Kalhoro made a direct public appeal to high-profile political figures, including Member of the National Assembly Aasfa Bhutto Zardari and Pakistan Peoples Party leader Faryal Talpur. She urged them to notice the administrative apathy, provide immediate security to her family, and direct the local police to register a criminal case against her husband and his accomplices.
