NEW YORK (Sept 22): US President Donald Trump has delivered a striking address to the United Nations General Assembly, claiming he faces a “big decision” over whether to completely destroy Iran or allow it to rebuild.

Addressing world leaders at the 81st UNGA session on Tuesday, Donald Trump aggressively defended his administration’s military record, while making extraordinary claims about preventing a nuclear war between India and Pakistan.

The speech combined severe geopolitical warnings with a robust defense of American economic and technological dominance.

‘Annihilate or Deal’

The US President painted a stark picture of the ongoing crisis with Tehran, labeling the Islamic Republic the world’s “number one sponsor of terror”.

“The number one sponsor of terror is the Islamic Republic of Iran. For 51 years the fanatical Iranian regime has ruled by bloodshed and mass murder, spreading deaths and carnage, and chaos, across the entire Middle East and beyond. They were the bully of Middle East but they’re the bully no more […] I’ll never allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon,” Trump said.

He claimed recent American military operations had successfully dismantled Iran’s radar capabilities, alongside its missile and drone manufacturing facilities, leaving the country with nothing but soaring inflation.

“I have a big decision to make—whether to destroy Iran,” Trump declared. Despite the hostile rhetoric, he expressed confidence that the conflict would draw to a close shortly, predicting Tehran would return to the negotiating table immediately following the US midterm elections on 3 November. He further called upon the international community to enforce a strict global boycott of the Iranian regime.

The Indo-Pak ‘Nuclear’ Claim

In a characteristic move to highlight his credentials as an international peacemaker, the US president reiterated his claim that he had personally settled eight global conflict including Pakistan-India war using his personal relations and trade tariffs threats.

“The Prime Minister of Pakistan, a terrific man, said that Donald Trump was responsible for saving thirty million lives,” he told the assembly, referring to a private exchange with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Greenland and Artificial Intelligence

Turning his attention to broader strategic ambitions, the President announced plans for the United States to construct two major military bases in Greenland.

Trump also underscored the critical importance of technological supremacy, particularly regarding artificial intelligence. He warned that the nation that achieves dominance in “super-intelligence” will ultimately control the future, boasting that the US currently maintains a decisive lead over China in the sector.

Trump hailed the performance of his administration, describing the US military and technology sectors as “unparalleled”. He pointed to a domestic record of deregulation, surging investment, and falling crime rates as definitive proof of his policies’ success. “We go forward strong and united against the enemies of all humanity,” Trump said.
