PESHAWAR (Sept 21): In an unprecedented move, police have arrested a 19-year-old suspect accused of digging up the dead bodies of young girls before abusing the corpses at a cemetery in the Bara Sheikhan area of Peshawar.
The individual, identified by authorities as an Afghan national named Salman, 12th grade student, was apprehended by a graveyard security guard who spotted suspicious activity among the burial plots early in the morning. The guard detained the suspect until law enforcement arrived on the scene.
During a press conference this afternoon, Superintendent of Police (SP) Saddar Fida Hussain confirmed the arrest and detailed the serious charges facing the youth. According to police reports, the suspect is accused of repeatedly violating the sanctity of the cemetery by exhuming the graves of deceased children.
“He first took the bodies out of the graves, cleaned them, put clothes on them and then subjected them to rape. The suspect was caught during what appears to be a fifth attempt to disturb a burial site and do the heinous act,” SP Fida Hussain stated.
Authorities indicated that the individual, a recent 12th-grade graduate, is allegedly linked to the desecration of four previous graves in the area.
Local police have launched a comprehensive forensic investigation at the cemetery to determine the full extent of the violations. The suspect remains in custody as detectives continue their interrogation. Community leaders have called for patience while judicial proceedings get underway.
The horrific incident recalled the gruesome 2011 tragedy, where two monster brothers, Mohammad Arif and Mohammad Farman, turned the remote town of Darya Khan into a real-life house of horrors. The cannibalistic duo was caught red-handed simmering human meat in a pot after plundering a local cemetery.
Incredibly, after being caged for just two years due to a loophole in the law, the beasts struck again in 2014. Cops raiding their lair found the severed head of a missing toddler on their fireplace. The fiends later sneered a confession to investigators, admitting they had disinterred and devoured more than 100 corpses. Later on one of them died in the jail while the other is living an obscure life.
