KARACHI (Sept 5): Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon has hit back at recent federal remarks, stating that the central government must clarify whether the controversial statement by Khawaja Asif reflects official state policy or merely a personal opinion. Memon added that such hostile rhetoric from federal ministers amounts to direct political aggression against the province of Sindh.
Sharjeel Memon remarked that before targeting Sindh and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Khawaja Asif should study history, the Constitution, and parliamentary records. He emphasized that the PPP’s stance is never duplicitous; rather, it remains clear, principled, and strictly constitutional.

According to Memon, the Punjab Assembly has passed resolutions in favor of a Seraiki province twice, whereas the Sindh Assembly has passed resolutions against dividing the province eight times. He advised the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) to please its allies if it must, but to refrain from making Sindh a scapegoat.
Sharjeel Memon concluded by saying that the PPP has always practiced politics aimed at strengthening the federation, ensuring the supremacy of the Constitution, and stabilizing the democratic system. Moving forward, he said, the party will continue to play its role in safeguarding Pakistan’s federal and democratic structure.
