JAHANIAN (Sept 25): A major police investigation is underway on Friday after a trainee nurse was allegedly raped and filmed by two colleagues while on a night shift at a government hospital in Jahanian, a city in the Khanewal district of Punjab.
Police have already arrested one suspect, a security guard, but are still hunting for a trainee dispenser believed to have been involved in the assault.
The 17-year-old victim, Rukhsar Fatima, told officers she had been called into the operating theatre for night duty by a female doctor at the Maryam Nawaz Hospital in Thatta Sadiqabad. Once inside, she was lured by a suspect named Amir to a room near a washroom, where Amir and another suspect, Nasir, allegedly subjected her to a sexual assault. Both the guard and the trainee dispenser also reportedly filmed the incident on a mobile phone.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the incident took place on September 15, 2026. Following the attack, the suspects allegedly began blackmailing the nurse, demanding she meet them again or they would leak the video online. The young nurse has since been admitted to the Tehsil Headquarter (THQ) Hospital Jahanian for medical treatment.
Speaking to reporters, the victim’s father expressed profound distress that one of the primary suspects remains at large. He appealed directly to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, demanding a transparent and rigorous investigation to ensure that all those responsible face strict legal action.
Local police confirmed that an official case has been registered and teams are actively pursuing leads to locate the second suspect.
