ISLAMABAD (Sept 15): The government has announced another increase in petroleum product prices, raising petrol by Rs4.10 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs6.41 per litre.
Following the revision, petrol will cost Rs384.34 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel has been increased to Rs415.83 per litre. A notification regarding the revised petroleum prices has been issued.
According to the notification, the new rates will come into effect at midnight and will apply for September 16 only.
Petrol, diesel prices go up amid JI protest against levy
The latest increase comes at a time when international petroleum markets have remained volatile amid supply concerns and higher costs associated with fuel cargoes. The Finance Division has recently said that global benchmark prices and cargo premiums have risen, while freight, insurance and shipping-related costs have also remained an important factor in petroleum supply and pricing.
